Shoulder conditions we specialise in:

Rotator Cuff Tear

Rotator Cuff Tear

The shoulder is a ball (humeral head) and socket (glenoid). The muscles act to elevate the arm. The large outside muscle is the deltoid and deep to that is the rotator cuff – a combined tendon inserting into a prominence on the head called the greater tuberosity.

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, is a condition that begins with a gradual onset of pain and a limitation of shoulder motion. The discomfort and loss of movement can become so severe that even simple daily activities become difficult.

Osteo Arthritis of the Shoulder

Shoulder Arthtitis

The shoulder joint (gleno-humeral joint) is one of the most mobile joints in the body. The gleno-humeral joint consists of a ball (humeral head) and socket (glenoid).

Shoulder Impingement

Shoulder Impingement

This is when the tip of the shoulder (tuberositas of humerus – part of shoulder) compresses the tendons (pinch or impinge) on the acromion (a bony protrusion on the shoulder blade), usually due to bony spurs that form underneath the acromion or an injury sustained to this part.

Shoulder Instability

Shoulder Instability

The shoulder consists of a ball (humeral head) and socket (glenoid). The ball is stabilized in the socket by a cartilage rim (“labarum”, which means “lip”) and the ligaments, which attach to the labarum.

Fractures and Dislocations

Fractures and Dislocations

The shoulder consists of a ball (humeral head) and socket (glenoid). The ball is stabilized in the socket by a cartilage rim (“labarum”, which means “lip”) and the ligaments, which attach to the labarum.

Shoulder surgeries we specialise in:

Anchors and Sutures

Dr Strobos designed his own anchors that is used during rotator cuff surgery. The anchors Dr Strobos designed is a 7mm anchor – compared to the standard 4 or 5mm anchors that most of the surgeon’s use.

Arthroscopic

Arthroscopy is a procedure that orthopaedic surgeons use to inspect, diagnose, and repair problems inside a joint. The word arthroscopy comes from two Greek words, “arthro” (joint) and “skopein” (to look).

Lateral Decubitus

One of the most significant advantages of the Lateral Decubitus position is increased visualization and working space within the glenohumeral joint with instrumentation.
