The Leading Orthopaedic Specialist

Dr. PJJ Strobos qualified at the University of Pretoria. He then specialized in Orthopaedics at the University of the Free State. He is in private practise from 1998 and from 2002 he has worked at the Wilgeheuwel Hospital. He has developed a special interest in shoulder surgery especially in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Dr. Strobos is an international presenter and has done extensive research on rotator cuff repairs that has been presented internationally.

Lateral Decubitus

To achieve the lateral decubitus position for shoulder arthroscopy, the patient is placed laterally on a standard operating table with the operative shoulder exposed vertically.

Anchors and Sutures

Dr Strobos designed his own anchors that is used during rotator cuff surgery. The anchors Dr Strobos designed is a 7mm anchor – compared to the standard 4 or 5mm anchors.

Research & Publications

Dr. Strobos has operated on more than 12 000 shoulders since he started his practice in 1998.
